Today we did our Memorial Day trip. It was a nice day. It was mostly cloudy but the sun broke through a couple times. This is the first kayak trip I have done in Pennsylvania since November 11. We did Sherman's Creek from Dellville to Duncannon. The water was about 3.3 feet on the Shermansdale gauge. There were just 2 of us. We had never done this trip before. Our glorious trip leader, Diana cancelled out due to clouds! Phil and I enjoyed a real nice trip. It was a short trip of about 8 miles and took 2 hours. This is a beautiful and quiet trip. There were only bird sounds and riffles to interrupt the quiet. The only problem is the steep takeout. After we got down to where you can see Hawk Rock we encountered some waves that were about 1.5 feet high. I got wet from the splashes there. The water is very cold for this time of year.
