Juniata River Mifflintown paddle September 15, 2013

Juniata River "kayaking"

It was a beautiful day on the Blue Juniata! I paddled the Juniata River a little upstream from Mifflintown today. I paddled for about 2 hours. The water level was about 3.32 feet at Newport. This was the minimum depth for me to paddle. If fact it was so low that it took all my effort to get about a mile and a quarter upstream. I was hoping to make it 2 miles. The water temperature was about 67 degrees. Cold!!
