Juniata River trip July 6, 2013

Juniata River "kayaking"

It was a beautiful day on the Blue Juniata! I paddled the Juniata River at Ken's Beach today. I went close to a mile upstream. The water level was about 4.35 feet at Newport. The paddle took about 2 hours. The water temperature was about 78 degrees. There are 3 small ledges before the big ledges. I got up to the second small ledge. I could not get any farther against the current. The big ledges were about a half mile beyond were I was.
I had hoped to get up this far.
