Juniata River paddle May 26, 2010 Juniata River "kayaking" It was a beautiful day on the Blue Juniata! The water level was about 5.9 feet at Newport. The water temperature was about 20 degrees celsius. I hoped, in my weakened condition, to paddle a quarter mile upstream. I think I actually did about 50% more than that. It was difficult for me. As slow and weak as I am now few people would want to go on a river trip With me so I guess I am pretty much on my own this year. I probably won’t get out much.
