Juniata River - Class I - Date: Sunday, June 8, 2008
Juniata River " kayaking"
It was a beautiful day on the Blue Juniata!
Shirey, Charlotte, Eli, Michele, Marissa, Samantha, Jamison, Beverly,
Tessa, Lois, Josh, Rich, Mike, Moe and Jim paddled from Rita Zellers to Howe Park today.
The water level was about 4.3 feet at Newport.
The trip took about 2.5 hours.
The water temperature was about 26 degrees celsius.
This was about a 6 mile paddle.
We saw several Bald Eagles this trip.
I guess they must like the Juniata River as much as I do.
There is a nest down by Iroquois Falls. I need to stop there sometime to watch for activity.
We had a good meal waiting for us at Howe Park. The cooks were Larry, Vicki, Carl & Linda.
