Battle for the Juniata August 19, 2008 Juniata River "kayaking" It was a beautiful day on the Blue Juniata! This was the Duncannon navy maneuvers on the Juniata River. I would call this a definite victory for the Duncannon Navy. Everybody did their job well and Cap’n Luke was the only one to capsize. If there had been any pirates around today they would have been in big trouble. I guess they would have surrendered immediately when they realized they were looking down the barrel of the Duncannon Cannon The water level was about 3.25 feet at Newport. The water temperature was about 24 degrees celsius.
