A few hours with the Genuine Hat Man
While having lunch at the Islamorada Fish Company our grandchildren spotted
a man sitting under an umbrella making items out of palm fronds.
He was the Genuine Hat Man.
He made a long stem rose and gave it to Taylor.
He made a fishing pole with a fish for Garrett.
The kids were having great fun playing with these toys.
Taylor was dancing around with the rose pretending to be a princess.
Garrett was trying to catch one of the fish in the pool at the restaurant.
Jim (AKA Pops) was watching how much fun the grandkids were having with the
toys, he decided to go over & see the Genuine Hat Man.
Around the Genuine Hat Man there were items he had quickly created.
An iguana, a cricket, long tail birds & assorted other things.
Jim was particularly taken with the Genuine Hat Man's hat,
which looked like the hat the Mad Hatter wore in "Alice in Wonderland".
He decided to ask the Hat Man if it was for sale & for how much.
A deal was struck.
